Should it be ohk to Run 1.4 computer box on 1.8 engine

Post by SugasWorks »

Hi guys I'm new to the forum. I've got a problem that's making me go crazy  but not sure where to go about it. First I've got a 1.8 engine with kjet 8valve head in my mk2 . Was running carb so I converted to mp9. Got a full setup out a polo cup 1.4. ND it is open box but standed. I made me a short loom thanks to this forum. I ported the head to correspond with the mp9 intake and fits perfect and there enough clearance inside around injectors also blocked the existing injector wholes on the kjet head. So I fitted everything. Wired up and started first time. Idle good and revs up good but the moment I start to drive when releasing the clutch and moving forward car jerks an loses power ND sometimes cuts out butstill idles fine and rev normal.
Things I've checked and changed since:
Throttle body tps
Fuel pump (universal intank pump with old fuel lines)
Complete distributor
3pin Coil
Checked timing 100times but only checked manually
Went over wiring
Changed the fuel rail ND fpr
.
For the fuel pump I had a old bosch universal intank pump was working but replaced it with a new cheapie just to see if it could be that but still the same thing
Car drive abit now but still jerks heavy ND stalls under acceleration. I've come to the conclusion that it could be that I'm running a standed 1.4 box on my 1.8 engine but not sure thought it should atleast drive abit normal with it
This car stressing me out. I need desperately some good advise plz

Check the map sensor first. If ok then get the ECU chipped accordingly.

Unaware of 1.8 on mp9, but 2.0 motors don't work well.

If U are in Durban, Autotronix can do it for u.
When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on :driving:
