Dented/Damage Radiator Fins Concern

Post by ismetvs@yahoo.com »

Hi Team

I am currently driving a 2023 T Roc, 140kw 4 Motion and my radiator has taken some fin damage over time. Its just been for the 30k service but noticed they have replaced it. Its not broken and there aren't any signs of concern however the reason I am seeking some insight is that I will be driving from JHB to CT and not sure if this can become an issue with poor airflow etc. http://youtube.com/post/Ugkxt3osZd87wuP ... muGqyjYbjx

If you ask me this is actually such a bad design having the radiator exposed that much :???:

Thanks

You're right it's a bad design, but unfortunately to get maximum air flow the things need to be "right up front". Radiators take damage like this over time. These cars are built with quite a good margian for the cooling system. Unless your radiator takes a hit that makes it leak you shouldn't need to worry too much. Obvious disclaimer if your coolent is low or you drive through a swarm of locusts that plugs the radiator and the temp gage goes up to 10000 stop and re-think things :)
