Vw 1.8 8v turbo ACH block

Hi morning guys I’m building a 1.8 8v turbo engine
Parts consists of the following
1.8 block
2.0 head and injectors
Dgg box
STD rank
Mp9 Ecu
Turbo holset hx35

Any advice on building it reliable such as studs Ect can the std head bolts handle 1.2bar]

My advice:

1. Whatever your current budget is, triple it before you go any further.
2. Forget about using Mp9 ecu. Get aftermarket ecu, Dicktator or Sustech or any other make that you can find a tuner for and that fit in your budget.
3. The 2L injectors is way too small. Depending on your power goal, get injectors upwards off 300cc or 400cc or you will be very limited in boost and disappointed in expected power goal. 1 to 1.2bar will likely be looking at 550cc injectors with supporting other components such as turbo and ecu as a minimum.
4. Sell the HX35. Too big for a 8v motor as it will take a long time to spool with lots of turbo lag. Rather look at a turbo in the GT28/T3 and Td04 spec ranges if you want a turbo xar that does not have a turbou that needs to be rev’ed upwards of 5000 rpm to spool up.
5. How would you drop compression ratio. The 8v 1.6/1.8 and 2L heads are very close to identical in port pize, valve size and head combustion cc’s so you will be at a compression ratio of 10:1 and slap a turbo on the motor. Not ideal at all.
6. Std clutch would not last long if you want to throw 1.2 bar boost in the motor. You’ll need to consider using a button clutch and then depending on how insane your driving/launch is going to be on a continuous basis will likely wreck the AGG gearbox, so again more costs to convert to cable shift gearbox setup with all supporting hardware parts. Double your triple budget mentioned/suggested in point 1.

If you want to do it properly and first time right, aim for a 60k budget minimum, when you are able to do majority of the labour and installation work yourself.

There are alot more to think about than just adding a turbo. Additional hardware and don’t forget to upgrade your stopping power aka brakes too. No use to be able to go faster, but there is no proper brakes/stopping power and proper suspension setup.

That is a short summary of key points of advice. I can ellaborate alot more, but then you will be reading a 100 page book.
