Hi Guys
came across a webpage for Diktator plug n play kit for 1.8T. they make it seem extremely simple to just plug in, start with base map and then get it tuned but have a few questions. i have a 99 a3 AGU which is stock, dont want to chase big power just want a decent tune with some fuel economy with a bit of fun in mind
is it really that simple to install?
what stock functionality would i lose? eg: average fuel consumption indicator etc?
is this worth the money?

Re: Diktator Plug n Play management
First if all, it is a plug and play wiring harnas that is pre-wired with all the connectors plugs.flash23 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 10:58 am Hi Guys

To answer your questions:
1. Makes install easier for guys who does not have all the tools to wire this up and saves time as you just need to plug everything in on motor.
2. Yes you will lose the average consumption indication. You will likely also lose the rpm idle up when radiator fan kicks in for a/c if the tuner is not setting up them map correctly.
3. It is worth the money as the harnas is pre-wired and checked for correctness to make installing as simple as possible.
On the other side of the coin, cost wise you will pay for this harnas, a standalone aftermarket ecu and then dyno tune.
I would say yes, worth it if your std ecu has gone faulty, but if you just want a bit of extra oompfh rather use that money to get a downpipe and remap on current ecu from a reputable tuner (eg Thanas tuning) that can remap your current ecu and then you will retain all the oem indications.
Your fuel consumption will be determined by how heavy your right foot is on the new found extra power. A remap can give you the same or very similar than stock fuel consumption.
