I've had my2008 Seat Leon Cupra for over a decade now, and I'm finally tired of plugging in an aux cable to play music.
Obviously I could upgrade the bluetooth module, which doesn't support A2DP (current part # 5P0-862-335-B). However, this seems to cost thousands, so I thought I may as well just upgrade to an aftermarket head unit with integrated bluetooth & Android Auto. I'd like to be able to also use steering controls to control the music, and from what I've read that means it must have CAN decoding? I'd also still like to use my bluetooth for calls, so would like to plug the mic in.
I've sorted out the cosmetics around getting a double din unit fitted, but I would like to know:
1) Should I go for an aftermarket head unit, or VAG OEM from another car?
2) Which head units in particular are the ones to go for? Happy to spend money, but don't want to break the bank.
Just for context, I'm happy with the stock speakers, so don't need anything fancy there.
I'm also very comfortable with electronics, so it doesn't need to be plug-and-play, but less struggle would be better I guess.
Thanks in advance!
