Detail Driven - 2013 Corvette Z06 60 Years Edition

Hiya All!

This was a new Vette!

Wheels:
Iron out. Boy this did wonders on chrome wheels!
Wheel Woolies
AF Hog Hair detail brush
Satin tyre gel

Body decontamination:
Citrus power
Iron out
Lather shampoo
AF Oblitarate (To remove glue residue after removing stripes)
Af clay
Dried with Microfiber madness towel form Germany.

Polish:
Rupes Keramik Gloss

Sealant:
AF Tough Coat

Windows:
Clay and Crystal Glass cleaner.




The Z06 Aniversary edition normaly comes with grey stripes. The owner wanted it removed from the car. Was it a job or what!! sorry, didnt take pictures with the full stripes.



Decided to remove rear spoiler and while it was out I removed the tail lights as well to get the housings cleaned up. Badges were removed front and back. Spoiler was removed due to stripes running under it.


Polishing:
Paint was a bit on the soft side and after a few tests with the rupes bigfoot machine, I decided to go with Keramik Gloss.




I then put back lights and badges.

Hey Lawrence. Sorry, no 50/50. Did have very light wash marring. Was a very time pressed detail. Sometimes you get to a stage where pictures are the last thing on your mind. The combo used was very light and worked well.

Believe me bud, I hear you about how difficult it is sometimes to snap pictures mid-detail so please do not misinterpret this - I just always prefer to see some pics of the true before/after pics in a detail thread, along with a list of products used - this helps me (and anyone else reading the thread) learn from you, and is the reason why I try to be as open as possible about things in my posts - so we can all learn from each other and share the knowledge.

Someone who may not understand detailing as well as we do, could see the after pics of this Vette, which as I mentioned, look good and then read the products you used and then go out and purchase these products, expecting the result to be the same, when their paint condition was ten times worse to start with.

I just believe that those of us with more knowledge than the masses, have a responsibility to them to be as forthcoming as possible or we may create false expectations and disappointment, when they try to replicate what we do, without all the know how....

I hope that makes sense, and again this is not a dig at you, more just an expression of my thoughts.
