OMFW

I only read this 5 page thread now!!!

I met MacMan at wesbank last week, and saw him **** up a C230 kompressor on our way back from wesbank, and I just thought I had to search for this topic on the forum.

Boy oh boy, this is one of the best threads on this BB. It really covers all the aspects of 2.0L conversion.

Well done Mac, you really did everything right!!!

Gave me so many ideas for my car. My car is MacMan's ex, a 1.6 carb-fed monster

Hope to see you tomorrow at Wesbank, to get some tips from you...

Thanks for the kind words guys. Apart from the driving experience of the car, it is appreciation for it from other people that makes the effort I put into it, even more worthwhile. 8)

I will post a few more updates when I am back on ADSL... dial-up is just too slow. :x

 My apologies, I only saw this post again now.

Well I have made a few changes since I last updated this post, like brakes and some interior changes, so I will try take some pics and post them when I can.

Recently I have actually gone backwards. :D I now have a standard cam in because I sold the 272 I had in there. But no worries I am in the process of sourcing a bigger cam... it will either be a straight 276, or a split 276/288. Then I might think about getting it chipped and I just might take the 2E head I have and get that flowed and then fit it, but we will see.

My turbo plans are going to be on hold until I get another car because I can afford to take anytime off work to build or repair the motor because I have just started a new job (after 3 months of being unemployed  ) Plus after speaking to Morne it would appear that the turbo I was given is a bit too big. So I will either need to sell it and get a smaller one, or I will need to get the exhaust housing on the current turbo changed to a smaller one.

You can have a look at my car in the forum Garage because I will also update it there when I do more mods.

Thanks once again for the interest guys. 8)

That turbo ws pretty huge Mac

I haven't fitted my 276 for the same reason, cant be with out my car :(
The 2L would need to be my spare/toy car before I can fit my cam.

maybe I should just sell it :?

WOW! Talk about a blast from the past.

Maybe I should make a plan to update this thread sometime...

Thanks for the compliment man. As far as I am concerned the only way to do something properly is to do it yourself. And with a bit of technical ability and the wealth of knowledge on this forum, you can pretty much do anything to your VW.
