We bought a second hand 2007 Golf 5 1.6 with a misfire. One of the plug wires was visibly damaged so we changed with a new set of HT leads from Goldwagen. The coil pack also had a crack so we changed that with a new one and also replaced the spark plugs.
Swapped the injector from cylinder 01 to 04 to see if the misfire follows the injector, still misfire on cylinder 01 after swapping.
The 01 injector was 14.9 ohms and the no 04 was 15.3 ohms. No 1 cylinder compression was 135-140 psi and no 04 cylinder was 150 psi. Whith a teaspoon of oil no 01 went up to 150 psi. When i googled for golf 5 compression specs it said should be between 125 - 175 psi and that anything under 100 psi was a problem.
OBDeleven gives the following information on the fault: CYL 01 misfire detected open circuit/short circuit to ground
Fault code P0301
status static
Any ideas on what else this could be?
