Golf5 gti steering wheel controls

Hi all.

My recently acquired golf5 gti has been butchered by the previous owner, who removed the 500 series factory radio and fitted a sony single din deck.

Problem is that the plugs were cut in stead of adapters used, so the wiring is about of a mess.

I am in the process of acquiring a doublexdin touch screen radio (that will support steering controls) and wanted to know if anyone has the wiring diagram for the mk5?

Attached is a photo of 3 cables I think may be just that, as they were just taped off and not connected to anything behind the radio in the dash. (Orange/orange with purple stripe/red).

Another thing that puzzles me is I dont see a permanent power wire in the wiring bundle.

Just a ignition power and ground red with yellow stripe and brown (which I presume is ground)(see attached photos).

I would appreciate any help greatly.

Have you had a look on my-gti.com? They have the pin-outs at least so if you look at another mk5 you can see what is what.
I suspect mk6 colours would be the same too.

Twisted orange wires are likely to be canbus.

Where are you based? can help you out with the wiring.
Have done many of these android radios.

PS. twisted orange/purple wires are Canbus wires like Marco has mentioned and are part of the steering controls

Currently considering buying connectors from scrappy and doing proper harness install.
