You are correct but it also works the other way around. As I explained to balls any message over the interweb has no sign of emotion attached to it so respect each other always think that your message could be interpreted incorrectly therefore dont get personal, to be honest seems like you are defending Balls.Firstly, I agree with you that all the agro needs to stop, but at the same time, this is the interwebz and people also need to take things that are said on the forum in that context. There are some people who, when you assume to know them based on their online persona, turn out to be completely different in real life, and so I believe it is important for people to interact in person, outside of the forum before forming opinions of others
Theres this constant referral to 1 or 2 people. Who are they, why not just say it. Did you ever stop to think that maybe these people are uttering what others feel but rather not say or have just given up. Every voice should be heard. The meetings are not concenient for everyone, thats why theres's the forum to realy the message across and get everyones opinion, maybe I am wrong. Lets not forget that when suggestions where made for meets other than the ones convenient for the "usual" crowd this is where we ended up.Secondly, it would seem from what I have read here, that there are only 1 or 2 people with 'complaints', yet it is these same people who have not come to any of the meetings we have had, and as such, I do not see the benefit of yet another meeting where the same crowd attend (generally those of us that attend these meetings never have any legit complaints).
I wont comment for Rhythm as no he and I are not in "cohoots" I have met the guy once. Yes there were plenty people involved in it at some stage, have we ever stopped to wonder why they no more around. Yes we getting new membership but at the same time loosing others so we definately doing something wrong. Comparing clubs is wrong i agree.I also think that a lot of the rage that has been doing the rounds is due to the continued punting by Rhythm that it is as a direct result of his involvement that things took off in KZN - As per your own admission the KZN section of the VW club was active a long time before even I rocked up, let alone Rhythm - and this gets people's backs up, and things then get said that only add fuel to the fir
if even the guys that we at the meeting at that were on the so called comittee have a problem with how this was handled then definately theres something wrong. Maybe its was because the message was never relayed properly. I dont know. Also, in respect of the comm we voted in at Firkin that night, you must remember that at that stage, even we were contemplating 'doing our own thing' due to the then lack of support from the JHB Comm. However, since then there has been full commitment from the JHB comm and as such we are all still here working together. Even though the 10 (or whatever the exact number was) of us are not all formally part of the official VW Club comm, it is in essence the same group of people arranging events for the KZN guys - it is this 'core' group of guys/gals that tend to attend all the events regularly and it is here that we chat about what to do next, but it is only Rob and I that have direct forum access to the JHB comm
Lawrence no ones saying you or Rob are not doing a good job, or at least I am not saying it. But it seems that things are there to cater for just your usual crowd. But shouldnt the emphasis be on growing the crowd rather than keeping just what you have. Discussing stuff at a track day which not everyone is a fan of doesnot help.
Off the 200 or so Dubs that came to the Photoshoot howmany of them signed up as members or even attended events after that.
Hope this is not taken the wrong way. Just a few concerns thats all. And please i have attended events before so dont give me that BS story.
